Privacy policy

The short version
- This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties: no ads, no analytics or tracking tools, no Google Fonts, no embedded forms, maps or videos, no social media plugins.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps the technical server logs needed to deliver it.
- Newsletter signup happens on beehiiv's own page (our newsletter provider), which stores your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time.
1. Who is responsible
SüdtirolKids (suedtirolkids.com)
Email: [email protected]
For any privacy question, just email this address.
2. Hosting (Cloudflare Pages)
This site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). Every time you open a page, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver it: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the page you came from (referrer), and your browser and device type. This is necessary to serve the site and to protect it from attacks and abuse. Cloudflare may also ask your browser to send technical error reports (Network Error Logging) so connection problems can be detected. Cloudflare keeps this data only briefly and sets no cookies on this site.
Cloudflare acts as our processor. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
3. Newsletter (beehiiv)
We send our newsletter with beehiiv, Inc. (USA). The "Subscribe" button takes you to our signup page on beehiiv's own website (suedtirolkids.beehiiv.com). Nothing from beehiiv is loaded on our site. Signing up happens there, and beehiiv's privacy policy applies to that page, including any cookies used there.
When you sign up, beehiiv stores your email address together with the time you signed up and technical data such as your IP address (and, where available, which link brought you there). We only use your address to send you the newsletter.
As is standard for newsletter services, beehiiv records whether an issue was opened and which links were clicked. This shows us which content families find useful.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time: every issue has an unsubscribe link, or you can email [email protected]. Once you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the list.
For your subscriber data, beehiiv acts as our processor and stores it in the USA. The transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in beehiiv's data processing agreement. More: beehiiv's privacy policy.
4. Affiliate links
Some links go to partners such as GetYourGuide or Booking.com. Nothing happens on our site: only when you click such a link and move to the partner's site does the partner set its own cookies there, to credit the booking to us. Their privacy policies apply. Partners only tell us that a booking was made, not who you are.
5. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. There are no ads, no analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), no tracking pixels and no embedded third-party forms or scripts. Fonts, images and icons come from our own server or your own device; nothing is embedded from Google, map services or social networks. Links to OpenStreetMap, tourist offices, hotels or event organisers are plain links: those sites only load when you click.
If we ever add something like privacy-friendly visitor statistics, we'll update this policy first.
6. Emailing us
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and delete them once they're no longer needed.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time for the future. Just email [email protected].
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example in your country of residence or, in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
8. Changes
If the site changes, we'll update this policy. The version published here always applies.
